Greetings from IPC President Prof. Wayne Edwards

Greetings to all IPC alumni!

It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to share some thoughts with you on our Alumni webpage. I was recently able to meet some groups of alumni in Japan. Each occasion was truly memorable for me. There was lots of laughter, friendship and catching up on the past as well as good toasts to IPC and to our alumni. We are proud to have alumni in about two dozens of countries and these people are able to carry the IPC message in many parts of the world.

I know that people who have lived and studied at International Pacific College hold many warm memories of their life on campus and in Palmerston North and New Zealand as well as the challenges that must be overcome as an international student. Each time I talk with a graduate, I am touched by the fond memories and strong feelings of loyalty to IPC. I know that the friendships and recollections will last for many, many years to come. It is also wonderful when IPC people share stories of the way that IPC has impacted on their personal and working lives. In fact, our alumni can now be found working in all sorts of jobs – in government and non-government organizations, in hospitality and tourism, in further study in other places, in retail, education and business, to name just a few areas.

As time goes on, the bonds between you and IPC will strengthen even more. You will become increasingly aware of the knowledge, attitudes and skills that you developed during your IPC phase of life and the ways in which they shaped who you are as an individual and international citizen. IPC staff members continue to be committed to helping each student to develop their language capability, the skills of self-reliance and critical thinking as well as perceptions that extend well beyond national boundaries. We endeavour to produce alumni who will contribute in their own way towards a better world.

The continuing interest and support of our alumni are very important to IPC. Please explore the IPC website to find out much more about what is happening at IPC at this time and please feel welcome to contact the College about any suggestions for making IPC an even better place. I hope that you will continue to share your IPC experience with other people, especially potential future students. Our alumni are our best ambassadors!
